Latest Job scenario in India : Jan 2009

An estimated 1 lakh jobs already lost in 2009, analysts say if the growth ratio gets down from estimated 9% to now 6%, each percentage loss is approximately equal to 2 Million jobs NOT created.

Some economic analysts look forward to the food and grains + productivity capability stores and are of stern belief that economical slowdown in India is a blown out of proportion concept.

Whatever is the case, the ground reality is freshers coming out of college with their degrees have a tough time ahead while those who are employed have no protection to their jobs at all.

There should be a policy created by labour ministry in an attempt of justified labour reform to make the situation more easy to survive and to decrease the growing pressurisation of the employers!

As per latest information available, 39.97 million job seekers, all of whom may not necessarily be unemployed, are registered with employment exchanges in the country as on 31.12.2007.

Employment Exchanges sponsor candidates against the vacancies notified by employers of both public and private sectors. About 2.64 lakh placements have been effected through the employment exchanges as on 31.12.2007.

A Mission Mode Project for upgradation and Modernization of Employment Exchanges has been taken up under National e-goverence plan to make them more demand responsive
